Primaries

At Epic Polymer Solutions, we have the expertise to provide high reliability, high performance cable cores within industry-leading turnaround times. We developed a tightly controlled and supervised melt extrusion process to achieve tighter tolerances. We also designed specialized pressure tooling that results in a smooth finish and eliminated tip clogs. In-process inspections using precision laser gauging equipment monitor incoming wire diameter and coated wire diameter, as well as ovality and concentricity, while integrated Fast Fourier Transform software allows us to measure structural return loss. We are also able to perform various other quality assurance processes including capacitance testing, strip force measurement, and pinhole detection.

These products meet Infiniband, Fibrechannel, QSFP, and QSFP+ standards.

We also manufacture UL Certified Appliance Wiring Material components.

UL Style 12197 – FEP Insulated Hookup Wire

UL Style 12197 is available from 50 AWG to 10 AWG in solid or stranded constructions with an extruded FEP insulation. The FEP jacket is applied with a minimum average wall thickness of 5 mils, providing excellent dielectric strength, outstanding chemical resistance, and stable performance over a wide temperature range. This construction is well suited for applications requiring robust electrical insulation in chemically aggressive or high-temperature environments, including instrumentation, control wiring, and equipment used in corrosive or solvent-rich processes.

UL Style 12198 – HDPE Insulated Hookup Wire

UL Style 12198 is available from 50 AWG to 10 AWG in solid or stranded constructions with an extruded HDPE insulation. The HDPE jacket is applied with a minimum average wall thickness of 6 mils, delivering high mechanical toughness, good dielectric properties, and excellent resistance to moisture and environmental stress cracking. This design is ideal for general-purpose hookup and lead wire in electronic assemblies, control panels, and industrial equipment where mechanical durability and cost-effective performance are key requirements.

Both styles are produced to tight dimensional and process controls to support automated processing, consistent strip performance, and repeatable terminations.
